Walnut Hardwood
Walnut Hardwood
Description
Walnut hardwood is a domestic wood that grows throughout the eastern half of the United States. With its attractive coloring, easy workability, it's a favorite choice among woodworkers.
In color and appearance, the heartwood (closer to tree center) varies from a pale brown to a chocolate brown, and can sometimes have a purple tint. Whereas, the sapwood (closer to tree bark) is a whitish to yellowish-brown.
Walnut grain is slightly open but usually straight, with a semi-coarse but uniform texture.
MakerStock Walnut Hardwood is S4S, meaning it has been surfaced on all four sides. Each panel has been planed or milled to create a smooth and finished appearance on all four sides making it the perfect project ready material.
We stock Walnut hardwood in 4 1/2" widths in nominally sized 1/4" and 3/4" thicknesses.
